Hate and Bias Incidents
In alignment with our mission to address all forms of oppression, we are committed to supporting undergraduate and graduate scholars, staff, and faculty when they have experienced instances of hate, bias, or discrimination. Our staff can meet with you one-on-one to provide an affirming listening space and resource referrals.
The University offers a centralized website for reporting Hate and Bias. If you wish, our staff can help you through the process of filing a report via that website, and serve as a liaison between you and the reporting office if you wish to remain anonymous.
Part of how oppression functions is through internalization - sometimes when folks with marginalized identities experience cissexism, heterosexism, allosexism, racism, sizeism, ableism, classism, and other forms of oppression we can second-guess ourselves and the experience. It can be helpful sometimes to receive community support and validation around those experiences. Many of our Student Organizations offer such healing community spaces as well as our events like Cuppa Tea and consultation with our Community Counselor.
