Heightened Scrutiny
Join the LGBTQIA Resource Center on November 18 from 12-2 pm for a screening of Heightened Scrutiny, a powerful documentary following civil rights attorney Chase Strangio as he fights at the U.S. Supreme Court for transgender adolescents’ access to gender-affirming healthcare. The film examines the legal and political battles surrounding trans rights while exploring how media narratives can shape public perceptions of transgender people and their access to care. Following the screening, attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a facilitated discussion about the film, the current landscape of transgender rights, and the ways our communities can respond to ongoing challenges to trans liberation and healthcare access.
This event is open exclusively to UC Davis students, staff, and faculty.
