The Emergency Student Grant fund was established through a generous donation by John Dixon, a former UC Davis Staff (1975-2007). He is an LGBT+ issues advocate and, during his time on campus served terms as chairperson for the campus and UC-wide LGBT committees.
The purpose of the LGBTQIA Resource Center’s Emergency Grant Program is to support students navigating an unexpected emergency who:
- are enrolled in at least 6 units, AND
- have exhausted other sources of campus financial support, AND
- do not have access to continuous and adequate financial support otherwise
Eligible applicants are able to request up to $300 one time per academic year.
Every effort will be made to award the full amount requested, but please understand that approval is not guaranteed. Approval may also be granted for a lesser amount than requested.
Our ability to approve requests depends on multiple factors:
- How much funding we have available to distribute
How much financial aid you have already received
Demonstrated need according to your completed application
Before completing this application, please review and utilize the financial support resources listed on Aggie Compass’ Financial Support Resources page as appropriate.
If you would like to connect with a career staff member at the LGBTQIA Resource Center who can provide you with mental health, academic or other support, please review our Professional Student Support Contacts handout.
