Trans Action Week (Nov 17–21) is a time to honor, uplift, and center the lives and experiences of transgender and gender-nonconforming students. Learn about trans advocacy through the years, celebrate ballroom culture and arts, and join a vigil and march for Trans Day of Remembrance to honor those whose lives were taken by anti-trans violence. This program centers the experience of transgender students, though anyone from the UC Davis community is welcome to attend. This includes students, staff, and faculty.

This week is about building community, amplifying trans voices, and affirming that trans lives are powerful, resilient, and deserving of joy and justice. See below for the list of programs:

  • Nov. 17: Lunch & Learn with Dr. Chris Hanssmann, 4:30–6 p.m. @ SCC MPR.

  • Nov. 18: Film Screening: Kiki, 6–8 p.m. @ Shasta Hall MPR.

  • Nov. 19: Open Mic with TGNC United. Details to come!

  • Nov. 20: Trans Day of Remembrance: Vigil & March, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. @ LGBTQIA RC.

  • Nov. 21: Know Your History with Dr. Beth Tweedy, 1–2 p.m. @ Shields Library.
