In response & in solidarity with Black Futures Month, the LGBTQIA Resource Center draws the visions of the theme, “New Era, New Joy: Embracing our Legacy, Imagining our Future “to host a Paint and Sip space for Black LGBTQ students & allies to come together to imagine a Black future using the creative lens of art. Guided by local Black Queer artist, Jana Lang (she/they), we ask you to consider what the future of Black voices, expressions, and lives will look like through artistic mediums such as collaging and painting. Note: Spaces and materials are limited! Registration is REQUIRED to attend. The last day to rsvp is Friday February 21st at 11:59pm. About Jana Lang: Jana Malkia Lang (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist, Hoodoo, and scholar currently based in Oakland, CA. She uses painting, collage, language, graphic design, fabrics, and altar building to bring forth truths, stories, and memories to create new realities for communal healing and survival.
