Queer Community Wisdom (QCW) is an annual event hosted by the UC Davis LGBTQIA+ Resource Center to provide opportunities for identity exploration, skill development, and community building among queer and trans UC Davis students.
The retreat will feature a blend of workshops, peer and community support, and engaging activities, offering a unique space for student-scholars to connect, learn, and share their stories. Workshop announcements will be shared on our Instagram: @ucdlgbtqia.
Formerly known as the Queer Leadership Retreat, Queer Community Wisdom is a weekend retreat designed to create meaningful opportunities for personal growth and community connection. We are especially committed to supporting first-year and transfer students as well as centering the voices and experiences of queer and trans people of color in our programming.
Mission Statement: To be queer involves (re)asserting ourselves in a world that was not made for us. Working towards radical queer liberation will necessitate robust self-care and self-advocacy practices to sustain care and community. With this year's Queer Community Wisdom, we hope to nurture ourselves and our communities by making space to advocate for ourselves and center queer joy. We believe successful advocacy relies on a foundation of dismantling oppressive forces within our communities, and we intentionally center and uplift marginalized people within our space
